Security settings
To access this menu: Press
Menu
in standby mode, and select
Settings
and
Security settings
.
When security features that restrict calls are in use (such as call barring, closed user group
and fixed dialing) calls still may be possible to the official emergency number programmed
into your device.
Select
•
PIN code request
to set the phone to ask for your PIN code every time the
phone is switched on. Some SIM cards do not allow this setting to be changed.
•
Call barring service
to restrict the calls that can be made or received with the
phone (network service).
•
Fixed dialling
to restrict calls and text messages from your phone to selected
phone numbers, if allowed by your SIM card (network service).
When the fixed dialling option is on, GPRS connections can only be used for
sending text messages. The recipient’s phone number and the message centre
number have to be included on the fixed dialling list.
•
Closed user group
to specify a group of people whom you can call and who can
call you (network service). When you use a closed user group, the group
number is shown in standby mode.
•
Security level
to define when the phone asks for the security code.
If you select
Phone
, the phone asks for the security code when a new SIM card
is inserted into the phone.

If you select
Memory
, the security code is requested when the memory in use is
SIM card
and you want to change the memory to
Phone
or
Phone and SIM
or
when you want to copy names and numbers from one contacts list to another.
When you change this setting, the numbers in the menus
Missed calls
,
Received calls
and
Dialled numbers
are deleted.
•
Access codes
to change the security code, PIN code, PIN2 code or barring
password. Codes can only include numbers from 0 to 9.
